Duke University First Impressions

In a word, amazing! Just in my first month on campus, I have had so many cool experiences. Early on, I had the opportunity to attend a special Ed Sheeran concert at Wallace Wade Stadium celebrating Duke’s Centennial, where I was seated just a few rows from the stage. The following day, I traveled to Wake Forest to comp

ete in a rugby match for Duke, which ended in a 44–0 victory. That evening, I returned to campus in time to watch the Blue Devils football team mount an impressive comeback against our top rival, UNC, winning 21–20 after trailing 20–0 at halftime. Celebrating that win alongside fellow students was a memorable introduction to Duke spirit.
Beyond athletics and events, I’ve met many great people, including fellow transfer students, members of the rugby team, and friends connected through my brother. My classes have been both engaging and challenging, the campus community is diverse and welcoming, and overall campus life has exceeded my expectations. I’m very grateful for the start I’ve had at Duke and am excited for what the rest of the semester holds.
